Posted by: notMatt Posted on: Jul 3, 2007 3:11 PM I haven't posted here in, I don't even know how long. But after 7 months of waiting, my dream drumset finally came in. I guess I'll just let the pictures do the talking because I can't really put into words how happy and overwhelmed I am right now! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Posted by: notMatt Posted on: Jul 3, 2007 4:20 PM No new recordings yet seeing as how I just got them today but hopefully I'll get some done soon. Right now, its kind of intimidating because I've gotten so used to playing only 2 toms for the past few years that now that I have 5, my hands are like "ah! where do we go?!" haha. I'm sure I'll adjust soon though. What I really need to do is get these stock heads off and throw some nice Remos on there so these babies can really sing

I saw it in a DW catalog and I told the guy at the music shop, "give me that one" haha. It's awesome, it is my absolute dream finish because I've always loved Emerald Green and I've always loved the look of natural finish drums so now I have the best of both worlds!

Posted by: pwc Posted on: Jul 3, 2007 6:44 PM I always thought that using green wood was a bad idea and having it kiln dried prevents warping.... ![]() But it looks great nonetheless .... !!

Posted by: ModernDrummer Posted on: Jul 3, 2007 9:02 PM Now THAT is one gorgeous drumkit! I'd agree with gettin' some "nice Remo heads", at the same time I've always thought the stock DW heads are pretty great. That looks to be Emerald Fade Lacquer over Olive Ash Burlwood. From the DW website:

Posted by: moneyowen Posted on: Jul 4, 2007 8:49 AM Early versions of that finish were called 'dirty fishtank' (I'm not making this up) Emerald fade over burl sounds much more sophisticated. DW Collectors come with triple flanged hoops, always have. I bet you could pay for and get cast hoops if you wanted them. But Goode and Lombardi think they work better with stamped hoops. They are probably right. those drums is tight, yo. Very classy.
