Anyone played these before? They are a one headed drum that are shped like a horn and are meant to project sound outward instead of toward the drummer. Look em up if you haven't heard of them, they have about the sweetest looking kits I've ever seen.

Had a set. Sounded like = shoot a .357 without ear protection, then play roto-toms.

Alex VanHalen played them for a while. They sound pretty good. Like any other concert tom but they are incredibly loud from in front of the kit.

I like the yellow kit with the oblong shells. Looks like the batter is one size larger than the reso. Strange. I would have thought you'd reverse it so the reso is bigger than the batter, sort of like a bull horn.

I actually have a piece of North hardware: a drum throne. I bought it used over 20 years ago. It's still in great shape thanks to some TLC and a few minor repairs over the years.

Vox drums circa 1967 ...

I remember browsing through a drum section and nearly falling over when I saw the 'Flat Tire' bass.

Interesting drum mounts and Tom legs, too.

I like that white ghosty set. Great for Halloween gigs.

I shudder to think how hard it is to tune those bizarre, twisted drums that are obviously products of someone on some sort of a bizarre, twisted trip.

My experience with North Drums. They looked cool, gave the drummer presence on the stage but i never heard one that didn't sound like CRAP!! Other then that they were cool.
