BUT I MAY BE WRONG! Just couldn't pass up the opportunity.

Nice set up too by the way.

The acrylics are beautiful!

fvgazi, I think Pork Pie lugs would set those drums OFF, if you know what i mean! Heck just a set of PPs would be a lot nicer in my opinions. Oh and if I had a choice I'd probably get clear acrylics with either red blue, or green lugs. that would be to die for, visually!

yeah, i just used a picture of a truth custom set because those are the colors i'd want to get.

ooh and then i could give my ludwig coliseum like a broken glass wrap or a lacquer.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! Big Smile

oh and another thing, www.indoorstorm.com has a couple acrylic sets (OCDP and Spaun) on there that sound sweet. i still haven't actually seen an acrylic set around here anywhere though. Angry

1) It doesn't really look like Travis' set-up - cuz he has less cymbals, and doesnt have a second floor tom/snare. But I guess it kinda does Tongue, I am influenced by him remember.

2) I actually ment to change the left side floortom for a 14" instead of a 16", by bad.

Although its not what I would have if I was endorsed... this is a very close representation of the set that I will be proudly piecing together with the money I do have. Pearl SMX with vintage fade. All hardware will be Pearl (because I like their products and Im anal about matching equipment) and I will have toms ranging from 8" to 16", possibly 18". Im still torn on what cymbals to get so Im going to head to Guitar Center to finalize my decision. My set will be a spittin' image of this pic (including rack and finish) except for cymbals and a slightly different tom configuration. Im going to try and post a pic of it and hopefully it works out. I have had very bad luck trying to post pics so well see how it turns out. Sorry if its crappy or doesnt even post! Tounge

you do a "print screen" (up by scroll lock and pause/break), which copies it, and then you paste it in paint or whatever and save the file.

I've done that, but the problem is that it saves the whole page, not just the drum set-up.

And damn JD, that's deserves a shag.
hey is it the Platinum Mist finish or not?
If it is, you got one of my all time favorite Pearl finished. Cool

Hey, PoorButGood, thats why Paint has a Select feature. You can select only the part where the drum is. Then cut or copy it and in a new blank page, just paste it and..
WOALA!

If you didnt understand, or you weren't able, just save the whole image and ask a friend who knows about imaging to give ya a pic only of your dear drum setup.

Mine is as follows...

Not really sure the manufacturer...DW would be nice, but I'd probably go with a custom company, like SJC (local) or Noble and Cooley. It's definitely not practical, from the pic, but naturally it'd be adjusted for my feel.

I'd want 3 bass drums if I had my way, two for primary playing, and a 20" for a punchy sound on occasion. Lots and lots of toms! Every size possible, throw in some Rotos and Octabans too, why not?! At least two snares...one mainstay (14") and a center racked brass or whatnot for fills.

Rack (and extra hardware) would probably be DW, I'd get whatever they had that could be loaded up like a bad donkey.

Pedals- Axis.

Cymbals would be plentiful, I come from the 'more things to hit, more fun' school of thought, and all of them would be Paistes from varying lines(Signature, Innovations, 2002, Rude, Traditionals).

Heads would most likely be all Remo, Clear pinstripe batter side, clear amb reso. Snare would be coated amb, or Emperor X, and Kicks would be PS3 batter, Ebony reso.

DDrum triggers and a Roland brain, Shure mics...

Have I listed it all yet?

Thats nice Worker-Bee

But, actually, I find your drum set pic quite uncomfortable.
Like the snare should be in the middle of the basses i think.
Etc.

Why do you like to use 2 rides?

31.Re:Dream Drum Set-up. [Re: leeroy_dork] Copy to clipboard
Posted by: SheekLucci
Posted on: Jul 15, 2005 7:57 AM

my left ride has promark sizzles on it to get the rivets effect and is more bright. my right ride is so dark and crisp with stick and suits jazz much more t han the other one does. except the a custom one on the left mixes up some variation in sounds of playing. i'll eventually have 3 rides. i kinda got use to 2 rides at jazz camp because there was a main set in the auditorium that john riley setup with 3 rides and i really liked it.

a yellow 7 piece pearl masters maple just like the one you've seen Dennis Chambers play. His config. is 10,12,13,14,16,18,22 but i want that and an 8" tom and a 20" kick for when you want to be a little quieter (no i don't want a double bass set up.)

I'll have my dream kit when I get my 16x16 floor tom, gotta save up first.

Slightly different setup now though, the ride is above the 14" tom now and the crash thats there is over where the ride was.

This would be my dream kit (having an obscene amount of money to spend on it, obviously):

Brands in this sequence:

1.-Brady
2.-Noble & Cooley
3.-Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute
4.-Drum Workshop

Cymbals
Zildjian
in this drum from left to right
China 18"
New Beat 14" HH
Crash 16"
Splash 8"
Splash 10"
Crash 18"
Ride 20"
Crash 16" (different formula either K or A)

Proportion of As or Ks would change depending of style of music
