hey guys! Hope you're all doing well! Today I aquired an Axis X Single Pedal for free from a friend who just bought a double kick from Axis. Pretty sweet! The one thing better than cheap gear is free gear.
However there's a problem. The hinge that attaches the footboard to the heel plate wobbles and rattles way too much for my liking making this pedal all but smooth. I wandered around to all the music shops in the city (Hobart has 3). 1 didn't have a clue what to do. Another shop that until last week was a dealer for Axis told me their drummer wasn't in and I should come back later in the week. The last store also didn't have a clue! But then another customer in that last store came over to help as a big fan of Axis pedals speechless that I'd got this pedal for free. He said I'd need an alan key to get into the hinge and either tighten it or just find out what the underlying problem is. So the hunt began for an alan key through various hardware stores but there was no success as the Axis is quite an irregular size it would seem.
I've tried contacting Axis through their site which seems to be impossible from Australia as they don't have an email address I can contact there either. Tried contacting the Australian supplier and my email bounced back.
What a nightmare!!
Does anyone here have experience with Aixs pedals and maintanence for them? Or even better have an idea on who I could contact to get the correct tools to maintain this pedal?
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
