Special HealthRHYTHMS Moment:

The High School the kids were very resistant and seemed to fear that I had an expectation that they would have to "perform" to some level.  By the time we got through the warm up exercises they were laughing and having a wonderful time. 

I know some of the parents of these kids and know that their lives have been tough.  When we were finished with the circle, I let them go to the percussion table  to play with the instruments.  They were like a swarm of  cheerful little birds, laughing , talking, and having fun with one another.  The Teacher was amazed and said to me, "this is the first time I have ever seen some of these kids smile".  It not only made my day, it made my week that some healing had been experienced by these kids.
