Presenters will explore the use of voice and movement for physical, psychological and spiritual wellness.

30 people max. Pre-registration recommended.

·Understanding vocal work and its relationship to wellbeing
·Experiencing personal wellness and creative expression through active music making and movement
·Toning with crystal singing bowls
·Mind work through positive affirmations, drumming and chanting
·Strategies for creating 'in the moment' group chants
·Creating your Soul Song, a personalized chant that focuses on affirmation of self
·Learning how to integrate these strategies in your work with clients

Barbara Reuer, PhD, MT-BC, NMT, known internationally for her expertise in music-centered wellness is Founder and Director of MusicWorx of California. She has 30+ years of clinical experience in a variety of settings and provides seminars (wellness, community building, stress management) for healthcare professionals, educators and corporate clients. Public notice of her work extends from recognition in publications to the Lifetime Network television show, New Attitudes. She has been interviewed in print media and television at the local, national and international levels.

Juliana Rocha, MT-BC, Juliana is a Music Therapist Board Certified graduate from California State University, Northridge. She integrates her many years of professional singing and vocal work for wellness and healing into this workshop. Juliana has trained with Silvia Nakkach, MA, MMT, one of the pioneers in the use and the integration of sacred sound with contemporary practices of transformation of consciousness in music psychotherapy and in health care. Juliana has been providing workshops for various populations throughout Southern California.

Molly Weiller, M.A., DTRholds a Masters degree in Somatic Counseling Psychology from Naropa University, and is a registered Dance Therapist. She has worked in a wide variety of clinical and wellness settings and brings her passion for life and health to her work. Molly aims to empower her clients to achieve even greater degrees of vitality and satisfaction to their lives. We are all dancers without trying or even knowing it- Molly's goal is to assist her clients in making the most of this dance...and achieving their dreams on the most fundamental and significant levels.

The "Healing Sound Workshop" is approved by the Certification Board of Music Therapists (CBMT) for 5 Continuing Music Therapy credits. Credits awarded by CBMT are accepted by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). The provider, Western Region American Music Therapy Association, #P-060, maintains responsibility for program quality to CBMT policies and criteria. Refunds may be requested prior to June 1, 2008 and must be submitted in writing to Juliana Rocha.
