The World Beat Rhythms (WBR) performance/clinic features critically acclaimed drummers, composers, educators, and authors Maria Martinez and Ed Roscetti. They perform using a variety of traditional hand drums and drum set, covering a variety of traditional and hybrid styles. This will give the attendees a better understanding about technique, time feel, rhythmic phrasing, song form, improvisation and leading the ensemble. The audience will learn a WBR composition percussion score, cues, breaks and dynamics. This hands-on approach offers an excellent opportunity for professionals, educators and, students of all ages to interact and explore communication through the language of the drum in a supportive and inspiring environment.
