Everything smells Rosy on New Years Day for Ernest Cockrell, Remo’s Grand Prize Winner
On December 31st, 2009 Ernest Cockrell and his wife Joanna arrived at Los Angeles International Airport from their home state of Ohio, a little tired but enthusiastic for their up coming days. Ernest was the Grand Prize Winner of Remo’s 2010 Rose Parade® and Bowl Game® contest co-sponsored by Modern Drummer Magazine and the Courtyard by Marriott of Pasadena, Ca. As the Grand Prize Winner, Ernest won 2 round trip tickets to Los Angeles, California, 5 days and 4 nights Hotel Accommodations at the Courtyard by Marriott in Pasadena, 2 VIP Tickets to the 2010 Tournament of Roses Parade®, 2 tickets to the 2010 Rose Bowl® Game VIP Tailgate Party, 2 tickets to the 2010 Rose Bowl Game®, a tour of Remo® Inc. in Valencia, Ca and an assortment of Remo Products and Apparel.
It was a great pleasure to receive this note from Ernest about their trip.
“We are the biggest Ohio State Buckeye fans you will find. We never miss a game. When Remo called to say I won the trip, I was in such shock and disbelief. The day finally came to fly out to California and I knew it was really happening! Chris Hart, Promotions Mgr at Remo, met my wife Joanna and I at the airport and took us to our hotel in Old Town Pasadena. Remo took really good care of us. Not only did they give us tickets to the Rose Bowl Game, but we got tickets to the Rose Parade too. It was awesome! I have never experienced anything so great! After the parade, we went to the tailgate party where we could eat and drink all we wanted. Then we went into the stadium to see the most exciting game ever. Buckeyes won! We couldn't have asked for a better day.
On Saturday and Sunday, Remo let us adventure on our own. We rented a car and went to the Santa Monica Pier. My wife's one request was to see the Pacific Ocean. She was so happy to be able to do that. Sunday, we spent the day walking around Pasadena and seeing all the different stores and restaurants. All the while, enjoying the great weather.
On Monday, Robert Shen, a VP from Remo, picked us up at the hotel and took us to the Remo facility in Valencia to see how the drumheads are made. We got to meet all the dedicated staff and friendly employees including Remo Belli himself. It was interesting to see how the drumheads are made and all the hard work that goes into each piece.
Thank you, Remo, for giving us our first trip to California and making it so exciting and wonderful.”
Remo would like to again congratulate Ernest and also, our 2nd Place Winner, Bob Weisenberg, and our 3rd Place Winner, Jake Linder. Our contest was a success and could not happen if it weren’t for Modern Drummer Magazine, Courtyard by Marriott and the many people who participated. We Thank You All!!!!!
