Valencia, CA – Remo introduces a new world percussion product line with its ERGO-DRUM SYSTEM which uses state-of-the-art technology that once again lifts the bar and ushers a new innovative drum to the world. The sleek contoured ERGO-DRUM SYSTEM, emanating from a traditional Middle Eastern design, is an ergonomically designed counter hoop and bearing edge with recessed tuning that improves the way your hands and your entire body feel while playing the drum.
Traditional doumbek shells are made from metal, clay, or fired ceramic. Remo’s new doumbek shell fuses the hardness of a ceramic bearing edge with the warmth of a baked clay drum shell into one using Acousticon® drum shell material which is lightweight and durable. The ERGO-DRUM SYSTEM is a light weight counter hoop and bearing edge that is robust enough to survive any outdoor drumming activity, educational program or professional tour schedule.
Remo will be introducing the Doumbek with the ERGO-DRUM SYSTEM and new Sapphire Ruby Designer’s Touch Finish at winter NAMM 2006. Other Remo World Percussion drums will soon be offered with this new system.
Along with the ergonomic design, the new percussion line will feature a new Remo drumhead with Skin Deep Imaging. The Skin Deep™ Image doumbek graphic drumhead is a new Remo technology resulting in the warm yet crisp sound reminiscent of traditional Middle Eastern fish skin heads. Remarkably authentic in sound and feel.
