Remo

Taiko
Remo’s Taiko are inspired by the long-honored Japanese drumming heritage. They carefully follow authentic Japanese designs from the barrel-shaped Nagado Daiko to the contoured Shime Daiko.

MODEL LINEUP

Shime Daiko
Remo’s Shime Daiko features a beautiful wood grained Advanced Acousticon™ shell, stained and finished to a high gloss. The heads of NUSKYN™ are stitched onto steel rings in the traditional manner.

Okedo
Remo makes two sizes of Okedo Daiko, both with the specially developed NUSKYN™ synthetic drumhead material for Taiko. Shells are made of ACOUSTICON™ and use a traditional rope tension system for tuning the drum. Durable and lightweight, they blend the venerable tradition of Taiko making with Remo’s latest advances in drum manufacturing.
Finishes:

Nagado
The large and small tunable Nagado are the first of their kind. They feature a heavy duty tuning system, steel counterhoops, and replaceable drumheads. Pitch flexibility combined with heads that can be changed in minutes instead of days make the tunable drums both practical and inspiring. Remo also offers a large Nagado in a pretuned version with tacked heads.
Finishes:

Odaiko
Odaiko simply means “big drum” and the worlds’ largest is almost ten feet in diameter. Odaiko can refer to a large drum of any style, but usually it’s used for drums of the Okedo or Nagado style. Odaiko are played on stands in a horizontal position often with a drummer standing on either side of the drum.
Finishes:

Hira Daiko
Hira means stout or flat so the diameter of the head is always larger than the depth of the drum shell. All Hira Daiko have drumheads that are tacked to their rims. There are a variety of playing positions depending on the size of the drum.
