The Infinity Mondo® Djembe features amazing sound dimensions created by the warm, animal-like Mondo®, Skyndeep® Natural drumhead. The life-like Goat Stripe Brown graphics add to the real animal look while the newly engineered key-tuned “Contour” brackets, and Designers Touch Eco-grain finishes add comfort and style.
Remo djembes are inspired by the traditional drums of West Africa but use modern materials such as Acousticon® shells and Remo film technologies to create a unique sound and look. They are the most user friendly djembes in the world and the choice for thousands of professional and recreational drummers. Remo’s Mondo key-tuned djembes were named after the pre-tuned Mondo drumheads that changed the industry in 1993 by using Remo’s Pre-tuned System technologies.
Remo introduced the SKYNDEEP NATURAL drumhead featured on the Infinity Mondo® Djembe and the Katsugi Okedaiko Taiko drums in 2010. This hybrid drumhead creation combines two patented technologies; SKYNDEEP® and NUSKYN®.
SKYNDEEP® is the graphic infusion of pigment into a polyester surface making it uniquely attractive while maintaining the integrity of a great sounding drumhead. This enables Remo to create a replica of an animal skin for any World Percussion instrument.
SKYNDEEP® is weather resistant, producing warm tones, increased sound volume and projection in any environment.
NUSKYN® sounds natural, warm, and full-bodied with enhanced low and mid-range frequencies, without any lingering high pitched overtones. Frequency analysis of shows it closely resembles the performance of animal skin, while actually expanding the sound response spectrum dramatically.
SKYNDEEP NATURAL is a multi-ply process creating the authentic look and textured feel of an animal skin. Sound qualities are natural, warm full-bodied tones with enhanced low and mid-range frequencies, quick overtone decay with increased projection. The added benefits are esthetically complimentary to cultural drums and drumming.
SKYNDEEP NATURAL film technology is truly the blend of 55 years of drumhead manufacturing and a new evolution in drumheads for World Percussion instruments.
