Isaac Fernández Hernández is a professional and highly educated orchestral percussionist. During the pandemic, he found personal joy by sharing the rhythm and drumming with the elderly in his community. In October 2014, Isaac was appointed as a section percussionist for the Southwest Florida Symphony. He has an extensive freelancing career and performs regularly with several professional orchestras in Florida, including the Naples Philharmonic, Jacksonville Symphony, Sarasota Orchestra, Sarasota Opera, Orlando Philharmonic, The Florida Orchestra, and Palm Beach Opera.

A former student of Ted Atkatz at Lynn Conservatory, Isaac obtained his Performance Diploma. He received his Master of Music degree from Boston University under the supervision of timpanist Tim Genis and completed his undergraduate studies at Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Additionally, Isaac is an alumnus of the Interlochen Arts Academy, where he began his percussion studies after moving from his home country, Costa Rica, at the age of 16.

Over the past years, he has performed under various renowned conductors, such as Lorin Maazel, Valery Gergiev, Krystof Penderecki, Donald Runnicles, and Giancarlo Guerrero. He has attended major festivals worldwide, including the Pacific Music Festival in Japan for two consecutive years, Lyrique-en-Mer in France, and the Penderecki Musik Akademie in Germany and Poland. Isaac has shared the stage with some of the best musicians from the Chicago Symphony, Berlin Philharmonic, and Vienna Philharmonic.

In September 2015, Isaac made his Carnegie Hall debut as the principal timpanist of the International Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.
