Remo is the most essential component to Charley Drayton's drumming since acquiring his first professional drum set.

Born into a musical family and raised in Brooklyn, NY, music was Charley’s first language and still is his foremost passion.

His father, Bernard Drayton, began his musical career as a recording engineer and went on to become a jingle and record producer. From age three, Charley began to spend much of his time attending recording sessions and live performances. His family home was always filled with new music from all genres.

One of his first musical dreams was to join a band. In the process of his search, by 1980 he began his professional recording career with master musician Bernard Wright. The door was then wide open. Through the years, he has shared musical settings with Fiona Apple, Sara Bareilles, Paul Simon, B52’s, Divinyls, Cold Chisel, Michelle Branch, Simon & Garfunkel, Steven Van Zandt & the Desciples of soul, Chaka Khan, ,David Sanborn, Herbie Hancock & the Headhunters 2, Johnny Halladay, Taj Mahal, Late Night with David Letterman, Keith Richards & the Xpensive Winos, and most recently Bob Dylan.

Through the evolution of the Remo brand, Charley’s musical creativity, tone discovery, and excitement continues to soar.
