Mark entertains (and educates) with his trademark high-energy style as he romps and stomps through an arsenal of percussive paraphernalia--and can include marimba, doumbec, hammered dulcimer, bones, cajon, bodhran, snare drum, handpan, and electronics.

A dedicated educator, Mark has presented The Strike, Scrape, & Shake Show to thousands of students in schools and libraries. Mark's books for elementary music are published by Heritage Music Press. Articles by Mark have appeared in Dulcimer Players News, Percussive Notes, Activate, and Worship Musician. Compositions for solo keyboard percussion are available from HoneyRock and Per-Mus Publications.

Mark's educational credentials include positions as Visiting Artist at two colleges, teaching percussion at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, and leading hundreds of interactive workshops for elementary students.

The percussion work of Mark Shelton has been heard in a wide variety of ensembles including The North Carolina Symphony, The Dallas Wind Symphony, Strata Big Band, Tin Roof Tango, The Daystar Singers & Band, The Shreveport Symphony, Talea, and The Metroplex Marimba Band.
