Tina Raymond is a drummer based in Los Angeles. Gary Fukushima, pianist, writes in LA Weekly, “Musicians love her lithe brush and cymbal work, supported by an iron core of time and groove.” She has shared the stage with jazz luminaries including Bobby Bradford, Emil Richards, Art Lande, Darek Oles, Vinny Golia, and many more. Tina has performed nationally and internationally at many festivals including the Angel City Jazz Festival, Costa Rica’s International Jazz Festival, Sweden’s Women in Jazz Festival, and The Mary Lou Williams Festival in Washington DC.

Striving to push musical boundaries, Tina blends traditional jazz vocabulary with African polyrhythm and classical percussion techniques. She studied classical percussion at the University of Cincinnati under PGC (Percussion Group Cincinnati), African ewe drumming at California Institute of the Arts with Ghanaian chief Alfred Ladzekpo, and jazz drumming with Joe LaBarbera, Jeff Hamilton, and John Von Ohlen. Tina is on faculty at Los Angeles City College and Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA.
